How long will our logs last?

This is one of our most asked questions, its also the most difficult to answer because it entirely depends upon what you are burning it in and how much you use. We are happy to answer this for you if you let us know what you intend to burn the logs in and how often you intend to light it.

Why Burn Logs?

Do you bit for the environment, Burning logs does produce CO2 however, if a tree is planted in the place of the one used to source your logs the process becomes carbon neutral.

Are your logs ready to burn?

Yes, all our logs are kiln dried  (for at least 12 months) and will not leave our premises unless they have a moisture content of around 20% to 25%.

What type of wood?

We supply a mix of Beech, Ash, Oak and Silver birch

Why hardwood?

Kiln Dried hardwood has many great properties and it burns longer than softwood too.

 

Will it be dry?

Yes we will not sell you logs that are more than an average of around 25% moisture content

What size are the logs?

On average they are cut to approximately 25 cm.

How will it be delivered?

The large dumpy bags are easier for us to move around and we deliver these in the bag, watch our delivery video here.

How long after ordering will my logs be delivered?

We will always deliver your logs as soon as possible after you order them.  The majority of deliveries happen within 3 days but during busy periods it can take us up to a week to deliver to you – we will always ring you to let you know when we will be coming.

When is it best to buy wood?

Ideally summer because that’s our quiet time, and you’ll get them quicker, but we supply the same quality logs through out the year so anytime is a good time.

How much will I need?

That depends upon what stove or fire you have and how much you burn – give us a call and we’ll give you a guide.

How should I store my firewood?

If you store them in a covered, dry and ventilated space you can’t go wrong, if you are storing them in a coal shed remember to put them on a pallet so they don’t get damp underneath.

What is the moisture content of your logs?

All our hardwood logs are an average moisture content of 20 to 25%, we test them before we deliver to ensure we never send you wet logs.

What do the dumpy bags/nets weigh?

Because real wood fuels (logs and firewood) can contain water, log suppliers are not permitted by UK law to sell wood based on weight, instead, logs and firewood are usually sold by volume. All packaging volumes used by Anchor Logs are based on a loose volume equivalent measure.

Beware of sellers offering logs by weight – you could end up paying for a lot of water!

Does the price include delivery?

Yes, the price you see is a delivered price.

Do you offer discount for bulk purchases?

If you’re ordering 4 bags or more in one delivery – we can give £2.50 per bag discount.

Can I specify a time?

We will always do our best to accommodate requests, and we will call you to arrange a delivery time.

Does the price include VAT?

All our prices include VAT

Are the dumpy bags returnable?

Yes please we would love the bags back so we can reuse them.

Do you deliver to where I live?

We cover the Skipton and dales areas. If you pop your postcode in at the checkout page, it will tell you if we deliver to your area, or see our delivery area map above.

Will I receive an invoice or receipt?

The confirmation email is your invoice and receipt.

Do I have to be home when the delivery is made?

Not necessarily, leave instructions when you order and we will do our best to for fill your request.

Do you store my sensitive information?

We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties.

What is your cancellation / returns policy?

The Buyer shall inspect the Goods immediately upon receipt and shall notify the Seller by email at hello@anchorlogs.co.uk within 48 hours of delivery if the Goods are damaged or do not comply with any of the Contract. If the Buyer fails to do so the Buyer shall be deemed to have accepted the Goods.

Where a claim of defect or damage is made the Goods shall be returned by the Buyer to the Seller. The Buyer shall be entitled to a full refund (including delivery costs) plus any return postal charges if the Goods are in fact defective.

If you are a consumer you have the right, in addition to your other rights, to cancel the Contract and receive a refund by informing the Seller by email at hello@anchorlogs.co.uk within 7 working days of receipt of the Goods.

Goods must be returned by the Buyer at the Buyer’s expense and should be adequately insured during the return journey. The Buyer will receive a refund of all monies paid for the Goods (including delivery charges, if any) except for return postal charges within 30 days of cancellation. If the Buyer fails to return the Goods following cancellation, the Seller shall be entitled to deduct the cost of recovering the Goods from the Buyer.

Goods to be returned must clearly show the order number obtained from the Seller.

Where returned Goods are found to be damaged due to the Buyer’s fault the Buyer will be liable for the cost of remedying such damage.
