This is one of our most asked questions, its also the most difficult to answer because it entirely depends upon what you are burning it in and how much you use. We are happy to answer this for you if you let us know what you intend to burn the logs in and how often you intend to light it.
Do you bit for the environment, Burning logs does produce CO2 however, if a tree is planted in the place of the one used to source your logs the process becomes carbon neutral.
Yes, all our logs are kiln dried and will not leave our premises unless they have a moisture content of around 20%. They are accredited by the Woodsure Ready To Burn scheme.
We supply all types of mixed hardwoods – beech, ash, oak, silver birch, sycamore, hornbeam; whatever is seasonal at that time.
Kiln Dried hardwood has many great properties and is a denser wood, therefore burns longer than softwood.
Yes we will not sell you logs that are more than an average of around 20% moisture content.
On average they are cut to approximately 25 cm.
The bulk bags are easier for us to move around and we deliver and leave the logs in the bag (less mess for our customer) watch our delivery video below.
We will always deliver your logs as soon as possible after you order them. The majority of deliveries happen within 3 – 5 working days but during busy periods it can take us longer – we will always notify you to let you know when we will be coming. If deliveries are taking longer, this will be communicated to you on the checkout page.
Ideally summer because that’s our quiet time, and you’ll get them quicker, but we supply the same quality logs through out the year so anytime is a good time.
That depends upon what stove or fire you have and how much you burn – give us a call and we’ll give you a guide.
Yes, but by appointment only. Please check our contact page for more details.
If you store them in a covered, dry and ventilated space you can’t go wrong, if you are storing them in a coal shed remember to put them on a pallet so they don’t get damp underneath. If you don’t have a log store, we sell them available in three different sizes.
Because real wood fuels (logs and firewood) can contain water, log suppliers are not permitted by UK law to sell wood based on weight, instead, logs and firewood are usually sold by volume. All packaging volumes used by Anchor Logs are based on a loose volume equivalent measure. Bulk Bag size is 0.85 x 0.85 x 0.85m.
Beware of sellers offering logs by weight – you could end up paying for a lot of water!
Yes, the price you see is a delivered price.
If you’re ordering 4 bags or more in one delivery – we can give £5 per bag discount. Please call us to arrange this.
We will always do our best to accommodate requests, and we will call you to arrange a delivery time.
All our prices include VAT
